This Mature Ash tree sadly needed to be removed due to the substantial amount of decay in the butt and the root area. As the tree was roadside, it was deemed to be of high risk to members of the public and was therefore condemned.
We employed the use of a timber lorry on this particular job to speed up the entire process. Without a crane to lift the large timber straight off the job, the time spent cutting up the trunk into manageable pieces would have quite easily doubled the time taken on the whole job.
Using large equipment generally proves to be more cost-effective when it comes to tree work, cutting out a good 4 hours of time in this case, that would otherwise have been billed to the customer.
